Terms & Conditions ¶

1. Acceptance of Terms ¶

By downloading and using Constellation ("the App"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Use of the App ¶

• The App is designed to visualize Markdown vaults as 3D constellations on Apple Vision Pro
• You may use the App for personal, non-commercial use only
• You agree not to reverse engineer, modify, or create derivative works from the App
• The App is a visualization tool and does not modify your original files

3. File Access ¶

• The App requires access to folders containing your Markdown files
• Access is granted through Security-Scoped Bookmarks for persistent folder access
• You control which folders the App can access
• The App only reads .md files; it does not write to or modify your files

4. Intellectual Property ¶

• All content, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, 3D rendering code, and software, is the property of Constellation
• Your Markdown files and vault content remain entirely your property
• User settings and preferences belong to the user

5. User Conduct ¶

• You agree to use the App responsibly and not for any unlawful purpose
• You will not attempt to interfere with the App's functionality or security
• You are responsible for the content of the vaults you choose to visualize

6. In-App Purchases ¶

• The App offers a free tier with limited features (1 vault, 300 notes)
• A one-time Pro purchase unlocks unlimited vaults, notes, and advanced features
• Pricing is displayed in the App and may vary by region
• All purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by law or at our discretion
• Purchase processing is handled by RevenueCat and Apple's App Store

7. Disclaimer of Warranties ¶

• The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee specific visualization results or performance
• Graph layouts may vary based on vault size and structure
• We are not responsible for any errors in parsing or rendering

8. Limitation of Liability ¶

• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the App or Pro upgrade
• We are not liable for any data loss or corruption in your vault files

9. Platform Requirements ¶

• Constellation is designed exclusively for Apple Vision Pro (visionOS)
• The App requires visionOS 26 or later
• Performance may vary based on vault size and device conditions

10. Changes to Terms ¶

• We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time
• You will be notified of material changes through the App
• Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of modified terms

11. Termination ¶

• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
• You may delete the App at any time
• Upon deletion, all locally stored data will be removed with the app

Privacy Policy ¶

1. Information We Collect ¶

Information You Provide:

• Vault folder locations you select for visualization
• Display preferences and settings
• Optional analytics consent

Information We Automatically Collect:

• Vault metadata (file count, folder structure) for rendering purposes
• App settings and preferences
• Device information (visionOS version for compatibility)

Information We Do NOT Collect:

• The actual content of your Markdown files is not transmitted anywhere
• Personal information, names, or contact details
• Location data or GPS coordinates
• Photos, media, or other files
• Browsing history or external activity
• Any data from outside the selected vault folders

2. How We Use Information ¶

To Provide Core Features:

• Parse Markdown files to generate 3D graph visualization
• Store vault metadata locally for performance
• Remember your preferences and settings
• Cache graph layouts for faster loading

All Processing is Local:

• Vault parsing happens entirely on your device
• Graph calculations run on-device
• No vault content is ever transmitted to external servers

3. Data Storage and Security ¶

Local Storage Only:

• All vault metadata stored in app's Documents folder
• Graph snapshots cached in app's Caches folder
• Settings stored in UserDefaults
• Data persists until you delete the app

No Cloud Sync:

• Constellation does not sync data to any cloud service
• Your vault visualization data stays on your device
• No iCloud, no external servers, no network transmission of vault data

4. Third-Party Services ¶

RevenueCat (Purchase Processing):

• Handles in-app purchase transactions
• Manages Pro entitlement verification
• Processes only purchase-related data
• Governed by RevenueCat's privacy policy

Apple App Store:

• Processes payments for Pro upgrade
• Standard App Store transaction handling
• Governed by Apple's privacy policy

No Other Third-Party Services:

• No analytics services by default
• No advertising networks
• No data brokers or marketing services
• Optional analytics require explicit user consent

5. Data Sharing ¶

We Do NOT:

• Sell, trade, or rent your personal information
• Share vault content with any third party
• Provide data to advertisers or marketing companies
• Transmit vault content over the network

We May Share:

• Purchase transaction data with RevenueCat (for Pro verification only)
• Information if required by law or to protect our rights

6. Your Privacy Rights ¶

Access and Control:

• All data is stored locally—you have full access
• Delete vault associations in app settings
• Clear cached data at any time
• Remove the app to delete all associated data

No Account Required:

• Constellation requires no sign-up or login
• No email address or personal details collected
• No user profile or identifier created

California Privacy Rights (CCPA):

• Right to know what data is collected (see section 1)
• Right to delete your data (delete the app)
• Right to opt-out of data sale (we don't sell data)

European Privacy Rights (GDPR):

• Legal basis: Contract performance
• Right to access: All data stored locally on your device
• Right to erasure: Delete the app
• Right to data portability: Your vault files remain yours

7. Children's Privacy ¶

• The App is intended for users 13 years and older
• We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13
• No personal information is collected from any user

8. Data Retention ¶

• Active usage: Data retained as long as the app is installed
• App deletion: All data permanently removed with the app
• No server-side data: Nothing to retain externally

9. International Data Transfers ¶

• Vault data is never transferred internationally (stays on device)
• RevenueCat purchase processing may occur in the United States
• Purchase transactions follow Apple's standard processing

10. Security Measures ¶

• App Sandbox enabled for data isolation
• File access restricted to user-selected folders only
• No network transmission of vault content
• Standard iOS/visionOS security protections apply

11. Changes to Privacy Policy ¶

• We will notify users of material changes via in-app announcements
• The "Last updated" date will reflect recent changes
• Continued use constitutes acceptance of changes
• You can review the current policy anytime at drobinin.com/apps/terms/constellation

12. Analytics Opt-In ¶

• Analytics are disabled by default
• If enabled, data is anonymized and aggregated
• You can change this setting at any time in the app
• Opting out has no effect on app functionality
