Privacy Policy ¶
murmur is a small indie project. The privacy posture is meant to match — light-touch, on-device first, with third-party services kept to the minimum needed to make the app work.
Plain summary ¶
Your voice isn't recorded. Practice transcripts may be kept for up to 30 days so we can look into quality issues, then they're deleted. We use a small amount of anonymous usage analytics and a subscription-management service to keep the app running — neither is linked to your real-world identity. Most things live on your device. We don't sell anything about you and we don't use it for advertising.
1. What we may collect, where it goes, how long it sticks around ¶
On your device (iPhone or iPad)
- Practice progress, achievements, streaks, custom scenarios, and your recent practice transcripts — stored locally
- Optional display name, if you enter one
- Stays on your device until you delete the app
Voice during a practice call
- Streamed live so the AI can respond
- Not recorded
Practice transcripts (text)
- A text transcript may be generated as you speak so the AI can follow along
- May be kept for up to 30 days so we can look into quality issues, then deleted
Post-call feedback
- After a call, the transcript may be used to generate strengths, areas to improve, and a tip
- Not kept beyond what's needed to produce that feedback
- The feedback itself is saved on your device
Anonymous usage analytics
- Event names like "onboarding completed", "call started", "paywall viewed" — used to get a feel for what's working and what isn't
- No IP addresses, no personal identifiers; events are anonymous and aggregated
- Not linked to your Apple ID, email, or anything else
Subscription state
- A subscription-management service may keep track of whether you have an active subscription, your plan, and renewal status, so the app knows what to unlock
- An anonymous identifier is used; not linked to your real-world identity
Apple's services
- The App Store handles payment — card details never reach the app
- Apple's anonymized App Analytics may share aggregate install/usage data with us, if you've enabled App Analytics in iOS Settings. You can turn that off any time
2. What we don't do ¶
We don't collect anything used for advertising or cross-app tracking, and we don't sell anything about you.
3. Categories of third-party services ¶
A few external services may be involved in making the app work:
| Category | What it might see | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Voice AI provider | Live voice stream during the call; text transcript may be retained up to 30 days | Drives the AI conversation |
| AI feedback service | Post-call transcript, only while the request is in-flight | Generates feedback |
| Anonymous analytics platform | Anonymous event names + counts | Product analytics |
| Subscription-management service | Anonymous identifier + subscription state | Subscription management |
| Apple App Store | Payment processing | Purchases, restores |
We're happy to share the specific vendors behind each category on request — just email the address below.
4. Your rights ¶
Delete everything
- Delete the app and the on-device data goes with it
- Email ios.murmur@drobinin.com to ask for deletion of anything held by the services above. We'll trigger it within 30 days
Export
- Your practice transcripts and progress are visible in-app — screenshot or copy them as you wish
- For a structured export of anything held externally, drop us a line at the address above
California (CCPA)
- Nothing about you is sold or shared for cross-context behavioural advertising
- Right to know, delete, and opt-out are covered above. Opting out won't change how the app treats you
EU/UK (GDPR)
- Legal basis: contract performance for the core practice features; legitimate interest (looking into quality issues, fraud prevention) for the 30-day transcript window
- Data may be processed outside the EU/UK via the categories listed in section 3. The relevant providers operate under standard contractual clauses for international transfers
- You have the right to access, correct, erase, export, and to complain to your local supervisory authority
5. Children ¶
murmur is intended for ages 13+. If you think a child under 13 has used the app, drop us a line and we'll clean up any associated data.
6. Changes to this policy ¶
Material changes will get flagged in the app. The "Last updated" line at the top reflects the most recent edit. The current policy is always at drobinin.com/apps/terms/murmur/.
7. Contact ¶
- Email: ios.murmur@drobinin.com
