Why Undertone? ¶
A screen time counter treats a minute of reading and a minute of doom scrolling the same. Undertone looks at how each one affects your mood, and a locked app opens again after you've spent some time on something that helps.
Common questions
Can Undertone read my messages or what I browse?
No. Apple's Screen Time framework tells it how many minutes each of your app groups has been used and how often you reach for an app you've locked. It never sees what happens inside an app.
What does a parent see on a linked child's phone?
The child's mood word and pattern tags. Not their messages, searches or app minutes, and the child sees exactly the same view.
How does a mood lock end?
After the minutes you chose in your restorative apps, like books, podcasts, music or meditation. Screen Time counts them even while Undertone is closed, and two short passes a day cover the moments you need one.
