Terms & Conditions ¶

1. Acceptance of Terms ¶

By downloading and using Tuck ("the App"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Use of the App ¶

• Tuck keeps track of the food you have at home, plans meals from it, and reminds you what to defrost and what to use up
• You may use the App for personal, non-commercial use only
• You agree not to reverse engineer, modify, or create derivative works from the App

3. Scanning and Planning ¶

• Receipts are read by on-device text recognition. Photos of food, and names the App cannot read on its own, are handled by Apple Intelligence on your device or on Apple's Private Cloud Compute
• What the App reads can be wrong. Every scan goes to a review screen, and nothing is added to your pantry until you confirm it
• Meal plans, portions and nutrition figures are estimates

4. Food Safety and Nutrition ¶

• Expiry dates in Tuck are estimates based on typical shelf life. Check the packaging and use your own judgement before eating something
• Defrost alarms and use-it-up reminders are aids. You remain responsible for storing and preparing food safely
• Calorie and protein targets are for everyday planning, not medical or dietary advice. If you have a medical condition, allergy or specific dietary need, talk to a qualified professional

5. Intellectual Property ¶

• All content, including text, graphics, logos, recipe templates and software, belongs to the App's developer
• Your pantry, recipes, meal plans and lists belong to you

6. Subscriptions and Purchases ¶

• The pantry, barcode scanning, the meal calendar, grocery lists and reminders are free
• Tuck+ is an auto-renewing subscription that unlocks receipt and photo scanning, week planning and recipe writing
• Pricing is shown in the App before you buy and may vary by region
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings
• A family plan can be shared with up to five members of your Family Sharing group
• Purchases are handled by Apple and are non-refundable except as required by law or by Apple's refund policy

7. Disclaimer of Warranties ¶

• The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee that scans, plans, nutrition figures or reminders are accurate or complete

8. Limitation of Liability ¶

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including food spoilage or illness
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App or subscription in the preceding twelve months

9. Changes to Terms ¶

• We may update these terms. Material changes will be flagged in the App
• Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated terms

10. Termination ¶

• You may stop using the App and delete it at any time
• Settings › Clear All Data deletes your pantry, plans, recipes, lists and household

Privacy Policy ¶

Tuck is a small indie app. It has no accounts and no servers of its own, and it does not use analytics or advertising SDKs.

Plain summary ¶

Your pantry, meal plans, recipes, grocery lists and household sync through your own private iCloud. We cannot see them. Photos are read on your device or on Apple's Private Cloud Compute and are never stored by us. When the App looks up nutrition, it sends the name of the food or its barcode, and nothing else, to a public government food database. A subscription service knows whether you have Tuck+, under an anonymous identifier.

1. What is stored and where ¶

In your private iCloud

• Pantry items, prices, meal plans, recipes, grocery lists, household members and their calorie and protein targets
• Synced through Apple's CloudKit private database, which only you can access. Deleting the data in the App deletes it everywhere it syncs

On your device only

• The names you gave receipt lines, so the next scan of the same product is filled in for you

Photos and receipts

• Receipt text is recognised on your device
• Photos of food, and receipt lines the App cannot name on its own, are processed by Apple Intelligence on your device or on Apple's Private Cloud Compute. Apple states that Private Cloud Compute does not store requests and that Apple cannot access them
• Photos are not stored by the App after they are read

Nutrition lookups

• The App sends the food's name, or a product barcode, to the USDA FoodData Central public API to fetch nutrition values
• No identifier, location or account information is sent

Subscription state

• RevenueCat, a subscription-management service, keeps an anonymous app user identifier, your purchase history and whether Tuck+ is active, so the App knows what to unlock
• The App Store handles payment. Card details never reach the App

Diagnostics

• iOS may give the App crash and performance reports (MetricKit). They stay on your device unless you choose Settings › Send Diagnostics

Apple Health

• If you turn it on, the App writes the calories and nutrients of meals you mark as eaten to Apple Health. It never reads Health data

2. What we don't do ¶

We don't collect anything for advertising or cross-app tracking, and we don't sell or share your data.

4. Your rights ¶

Delete everything

• Settings › Clear All Data deletes your data on every device that syncs with your iCloud, and the receipt-line names stored on the device you use
• Deleting the App removes what is stored on that device
• Email tuck.ios@drobinin.com and we'll have RevenueCat delete your subscription record within 30 days

Export

• Settings › Export Data creates a file with your pantry, recipes, meal plans, grocery lists and household

California (CCPA)

• Nothing about you is sold or shared for cross-context behavioural advertising

EU/UK (GDPR)

• Legal basis: contract performance for the App's features
• RevenueCat may process data outside the EU/UK under standard contractual clauses
• You have the right to access, correct, erase and export your data, and to complain to your local supervisory authority

5. Children ¶

Tuck is not directed at children under 13.

6. Changes to this policy ¶

Material changes will be flagged in the App. The "Last updated" line at the top shows the most recent edit. The current policy is always at drobinin.com/apps/terms/tuck/.
