The iOS consultant you call when it has to work.
Ten years of high-stakes apps: medical devices, millions of users, regulated industries. Currently in Canada, working remotely with teams across North America, UK, and Middle East. I handle the bits that don't fit in a Jira ticket.
- BLE/NFC device connectivity, background reliability, the stuff that fails in specific RF environments
- Architecture rescue: UIKit → SwiftUI, MVC → TCA, that singleton everyone routes around
- Production firefighting: crashes, performance, "it only happens on that one device"

What clients say
"Vadim was instrumental to the success Epsy enjoyed on iOS, taking it from an idea on a Miro board to the highest rated and most downloaded app of its kind on the store."
James C. · Mobile Engineering Lead
"We had a strict deadline, and Vadim managed to complete the job in time. He gave us meaningful feedback and suggested better approaches, not trying to blindly stick to our specification."
Upwork client · Apple Watch project
"I can say with confidence that it will be difficult to find a better developer. Vadim is achievement-oriented, highly organized, with very good communication skills."

Architecture reviews, hiring help, second opinions on that thing that's been bugging you
Available nowFeatures, MVPs, migrations, firefighting. Minimum 5 days.
Available nowPriority support: review agency code, join architecture calls, catch problems before they ship.
Common engagements
Ship your MVP
Working app in the App Store. I build it, handle App Review, and help you hire when you're ready to scale.
Fix the architecture
Codebase your team can ship to without fear. That 4,000-line view controller, the singleton everyone routes around.
Build the hard bits
The feature that works, not the prototype that demos well. Medical device connectivity, Wallet passes, background processing.
Agency oversight
Clear picture of what you're paying for. I review their architecture, audit their code, tell you if they're building a product or billing hours.
Join your team
Extra senior who ships. Embed in your Slack, ship features, review PRs, pair with juniors.
Due diligence
Report you can negotiate with. I read the codebase and tell you what's solid, what's duct tape, and what it'll cost to fix.
Not sure what you need?
Drop me a line and describe your situation. I'll point you in the right direction — even if that's not me.
Questions
How quickly can you start?
Advisory calls can happen within days. For project work, I typically need 1-2 weeks notice to clear the calendar, though I keep some buffer for urgent firefighting. Check the availability badges above for current openings.
Do you work with early-stage startups?
Yes, from pre-seed to Series C and beyond. For very early teams, the advisory tier often makes more sense than project work: you get architecture guidance without committing to a large engagement before you've validated the product.
What's included in the day rate?
Everything: code, architecture decisions, code review, documentation, async Slack availability during UK hours. No surprise add-ons. I bill for time spent working on your project, not for "thinking about it in the shower."
How do you handle timezone differences?
Currently in Montreal (EST) with full overlap for North American teams. For UK and Europe, I'm online by their afternoon. For Gulf or APAC, we'd agree on overlap hours and handle the rest async — I've shipped products with teams from San Francisco to Dubai.
